RISE to Resolution Conflict Management

About the event

Course Description

Conflict and difficult conversations can weigh us down, distract us, cause us to question ourselves, and deplete our energy stores. They plague our work environments with negativity and cause use to contract, isolate, or even begin to participate in a negative spiral.

This online program provides participants with skills and strategies to resolve workplace conflict with others. In this 4-day course, participants will create their own conflict and leadership philosophy as the foundation for addressing, navigating and resolving workplace conflict and difficult conversations.

This 4-day program is designed to promote health and build skillfulness in navigating conflict and difficult conversation for everyone, with a spotlight on the dynamics of power, identity, and status in supervision and management.

Our intention is to raise awareness around the individual’s power to change the space they occupy by choosing to initiate and intentionally engage difficult conversations through the lens of bravery, vulnerability, and socio-cultural awareness.

Benefits of the RISE to Resolution conflict management course

Participants learn:

· How to resolve conflict in the workplace with the goal of mitigating trauma and fostering healing.

· How to recognize and respond to the causes of workplace conflict.

· How to manage and reduce emotional triggers during conflict and difficult conversations.

· How to use a “conflict philosophy” to facilitate the resolution of conflict.

· How to manage working relationships once conflict has been resolved.

Session I: Developing your Conflict Philosophy

Our personal conflict philosophy reflects the thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes we hold about the way disagreements should be engaged in and resolved. A conflict philosophy reveals the values we hold and sets the tone for what others can expect of us during difficult conversations and disagreements.

Session II: Identity – Navigating Power in Conflict

Learn how social identities and relationship to power, positionality, and status show up in conflict and how to mitigate the impact.

Session III: Giving and Receiving Feedback

Learn how to give and receive feedback without fear. Develop the skills necessary to interrupt, respond to and recover from difficult conversations.

Session IV: Develop Communication Norms and Expectations

Create communication norms aligned with organization and personal values. Define personal and professional boundaries in workplace communication.

Additional features:

Each session is accompanied by a workbook.
